More than hundred years ago, during the British rule, when the Scotsman James Taylor introduced the tea plant to Sri Lanka they chose the hill country as the area with the suitable climate for the plant to thrive. The library in the house is filled with books of rare kind, which is a heaven for the academic as well as for the fun-reader. "Pemberley" carries seven bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a vast dining room, a well-equipped pantry with a micro-wave oven and a washing machine among other amenities to make your life an easy one. While the whole unit could be rented for Rs. 25,000/- per day,and if you need, you can rent single rooms as well here.
The staff at "Pemberley" and the Estate Bungalow both are well trained in their culinary art, and you will be fed with western, indian or traditional Sri Lankan style food cooked with fresh vegetable depending on your choice, to sate your hunger.
Surrounded by a vast expanse of commercially grown rose garden, there will not be a dearth of bird song , due to all the birds that visit the flower arbor. If you are inclined to, excursions to Adisham Bungalow, Yala National Park, Udawalawe National Park,
World's End, Horton Plains, could be taken at your leisure. Also, as the house is located in close proximity to the Bambarakanda and Diyaluma water falls, you could enjoy a short trip to these places as well.
